In particular, disabled children and adults have been the focus of a number of important legislative changes over recent years. As the profile of the country’s population continues to change due to longer life expectancy, ‘community care’ has implications for many people at some point in their lives. For this reason one of our specialist areas of work concerns the long-term funding arrangements of disabled people who require substantial amounts of care.

Ridley & Hall has a high profile in community care law. The firm is regularly involved in leading cases brought to the Administrative (High) Court and the Court of Appeal. The team has successfully challenged local authority decisions on behalf of individuals, represent clients appealing NHS Continuing Health Care decisions and are involved in community care matters, especially those linked to child care work.
