McCormicks moves up the rankings
McCormicks Solicitors of Harrogate has moved up the rankings yet again in the latest edition of the UK’s principal guide to the legal profession, the Legal 500.
The firm has won more than double the number of recommendations in the guide than any other Harrogate practice, being recommended in 12 areas of law. It is the only Harrogate practice in seven of those areas.
McCormicks is now ranked equal first in Yorkshire and the Humber for its crime and fraud work, with special mention for partner Geoff Rogers who, the guide says, “boasts first-rate capabilities”.
Peter McCormick is once again recognised as a Leading Individual in the Yorkshire and Humber region and the firm is listed as one of the top players in Sports law, with Peter McCormick described as “an outstanding sports lawyer” and “a striker who any informed client would choose to lead his team”. His work for fashion retailer George Davies, the Football Foundation and Harrogate International Festivals is highlighted in the Charities section, and his expertise in Agriculture and Estates and Media and Entertainment is also recognised.
McCormicks is the only Harrogate firm recommended for Crime and Fraud; Commercial Litigation; Agriculture and Estates; Charities; Property Litigation; Media and Entertainment and Sport. It is also ranked for its expertise in Corporate and Commercial; Employment; Family; Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate; and Commercial Property.
Current Yorkshire Private Client Lawyer of the Year Julia Rangecroft is described as an “up-and-coming private client lawyer” and commended for her work in Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate, while Geoff Rogers also wins recommendation for his expertise in family law.
