Harrogate Legal Executive - One in 22,000!

Raworths legal executive Joanna Broadhead has won a special award from the Institute of Legal Executives. The President’s Award which is open to all the 22,000 legal executives throughout England and Wales is a discretionary medal presented by Judith Gordon-Nichols, President of ILEX. The medal recognises an individual’s exceptional achievement and outstanding service to ILEX and the legal community.

Joanna has recently qualified as a legal executive passing all four of her final examinations in one year, having been told that this would not be possible if she wanted to pass all the exams the first time. She not only did this but also achieved distinctions in two of the final four exams while continuing to work full time at Raworths LLP in Harrogate. Joanna’s selection for this award was based on her exceptional examination achievements, her determination to complete her studies, her excellent service to her clients and her qualities as an ambassador for ILEX and the ILEX Tutorial College.

Educated at Harrogate Ladies’ College, Rossett High School and Northampton University, Joanna joined Raworths in 2000. She deals with the day-to-day running of matrimonial and children matters, and specialises in Family Law work. She is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association).

Joanna’s award is one of only four ILEX awards given each year in recognition for outstanding achievement. One of the other awards is the employer of the year award which recognises an employers’ commitment to ILEX for which Raworths LLP was also nominated.

The award was presented at the ILEX Graduation ceremony which took place on Monday 19 April 2010 at the Bedford Corn Exchange.
