After graduating from Oxford University, Alan qualified as a solicitor in 1973. Born and bred in Barnsley, he has also spent all his working life in the town.

Alan specialises in all aspects of property work from terraced houses to large industrial estates. He is head of the Private Client department in Barnsley and is responsible for ensuring that all members are kept up to date with changes in the law and procedure.

Alan is widely regarded as one of the most experienced property lawyers in the area.
