Julie has over 10 years experience in Child Care Law and practises in cases including Social Services and conflicts within families. Julie has been a member of the Law Society Children Panel for six years and acts for children either independently or through Guardians.

Julie has dealt with many complex issues surrounding Child Care Law including sexual abusers, chronic neglect and severe physical injuries by either representing the children themselves, parents or possible perpetrators. She has been involved in high profile cases that have reached the national press.

Julie is a Master Of Law specialising in domestic violence and she lectures on the subject to colleagues alike and voluntary organisations.

Julie has been a member of Resolution for many years that emphasises on resolving the issue amicably rather than through the courts for families.

In 2004 and 2005 she was elected two years running as the President of the Barnsley Law Society and sits on many local Court committees.
