Following his graduation from Durham University in 1987, Simon successfully completed the Law Society Finals examination at the College of Law in Chester before being admitted as a Solicitor in 1990. Simon has practiced in Northallerton since qualifying, initially as a partner in David J Cole and Company, then as sole practice principal from 1999 to 2006. Since 2006 Simon has worked on a part-time consultancy basis for Coles Solicitors. Simon's principal area of work is commercial property, where he advises both landlords and tenants, as well as local property developers. He has considerable experience in a wide range of commercial transactions.
