Richard Obank

Position: Partner

Richard specialises in corporate restructuring and insolvency. He acts for directors of companies in distressed circumstances leading to debt and/or equity restructuring; distressed business disposals; refinancing of distressed companies; and handling formal insolvencies primarily aimed at salvaging the corporate entity. He also acts for administrative receivers and administrators and represents the interests of lenders and unsecured creditors in restructurings and/or formal insolvencies. Richard has worked in diverse industry sectors but is particularly experienced in the professional football industry (Premier League and Football League - now rebranded), heavy manufacturing, chemicals, retail, construction, hotel and leisure and energy sectors. He advises bond holders in the US on restructurings of UK companies, securitisations and the impact of insolvency on derivative transactions. Richard is a licensed insolvency practitioner and active member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3).
