Career with Elmhirst: Alan has worked in the Barnsley office since 1977 . He qualified as a Solicitor in 1979. He has been President of Barnsley Law Society, Clerk to the Commissioners of Taxes and Director of the local Hospice, with which he retains strong links. He currently specialises in IHT-saving wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney and property development together with some commercial and charity expertise.
Interests: Fundraising for charities, including a parachute jump in 2008, Ancient sites of the Lands end peninsular An occasional artist and mostly ex-cricketer.
