Richard joined Lupton Fawcett in 1992 and headed the firm's Insolvency and Corporate Recovery Department until he took over as the firm's Managing Director in April 2009.

Richard joined the firm's Management Board in June 1992 with responsibility for marketing. Richard qualified as a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 1994 and continues to head the firm's marketing function.

Richard has for many years been recognised as an expert in his field in The Legal 500, Legal Business's Legal Experts and is similarly recognised by the Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession as a leading individual in this field.
